Veterans Affairs Research Foundation: Research Assistant I. The Research Service at the Portland VA Medical Center has a Research Assistant position available to an individual with an undergraduate degree in the biological sciences to investigate the regulation of cytokines in experimental arthritis. Duties include basic molecular biology (PCR, gel electrophoresis, Western blotting), cell culture, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, cytokine assays and induction and monitoring of arthritis in mice. Duties also include day-to-day lab operations, purchasing of equipment and supplies. Prior research experience is preferred. US citizenship is required.
