The PIG is an open source community managed Wiki for the immunology community. This means ANY member can add, edit or delete content. There are a couple of quick ways to get your information onto the PIG:
Add front page NEWS items: The NEWS section on the front page is automatically generated from posts in the News forum. Have an item you think should be front page news? Do this:
- Head over to the News section of the Forums
- Select "Create a New Thread"
- Give your story a title
- Use the Summary section to add a sentence or two that will be displayed on the front page
- Use the large text section to type or paste your news item.
- Click Preview to make sure your post looks the way you'd like.
- Click Post
- Your article will now appear on the front page of the PIG.
Post other information or questions to the PIG?
The forums are here for you to ask questions, post open positions, and talk about science. Any post you make in a forum category will appear on the front page within the Recent Forum Topics section. Furthermore, a simple search of the site (using the search box in the upper right corner) will search the text of everything that has ever been posted.
Adding meetings and seminars?
You can find information about upcoming seminars on the Portland Seminar Schedule page. If you would like to add an item to the schedule, there are a few options:
- Easiest - use the Contact form to send the information to someone else and let them post it.
- Easier - add a new thread in the Seminar Announcements forum. Someone else will probably take the information and add it to the formal Seminar Schedule page.
- Easy - On the Portland Seminar Schedule page, scroll to the bottom and click Edit. You'll see a window with the raw information for the seminar schedule. Use the same format to add your new item to the table. Click Preview to make sure everything looks OK. Once you're satisfied, click Save and the new information will be available to all.
